Jo Cranston is a British designer who works mainly with knitwear and felted wool garments.
Her designs are influenced by traditional clothing worn by working communities across the UK, with a focus on texture, colour, and craftsmanship.
She uses wool to create garments that combine classic tailoring with experimental surfaces and rich, saturated colours.
Her approach blends innovation with durability, aiming to make pieces that last.
Jo sources her yarn from British mills, some with over 150 years of history, continuing the legacy of UK textile making. All wool is traceable and certified by the Responsible Wool Standard, and comes from farms that do not use mulesing. Dyes meet European REACH and Oeko-Tex safety standards.
All materials are 100% sourced and made in the UK.

Each garment is the result of years of making and a deep understanding of materials.
Sustainable materials
We source all of our wools from UK mills. Our fisherman’s rib accessories are knitted using the softest merino lambswool, spun at a mill located on the banks of Loch Leven in Scotland.
This woollen mill has been making yarn for over 120 years, combining traditional spinning with ecological dyeing methods to produce the highest quality lamb’s wool. The mill uses water drawn from the loch to wash the fleeces before dyeing, the water’s natural purity and softness helps to open up the fibres. The fibre is then dyed before it is spun - a gentle process that gives beautiful colour results and an incredibly soft handle.
The dyes used are environmentally friendly, using a process that 100% recycles and cleans the water before safely releasing it back to the loch. Loch Leven is a world renowned RSPB nature reserve and 3,300 acre natural freshwater loch where you can find brown trout, pink-footed geese and 35,000 wintering birds thriving.
British wool
Our felted wool garments are handcrafted from sustainably sourced fine lamb’s wool. We have also introduced some beautiful British Wool into the collection made of a premium blend of luxuriously soft Blue Faced Leicester and strong, durable Masham sheep breeds.
Sourced from farms in Yorkshire and crafted
entirely with-in a 50 mile radius, this yarn is both GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and the Soil Association Organic certification.
